About Melitka

Meet Melitka

I believe that meaningful change happens through relationship.

Whether we are sitting together in conversation, walking outdoors, or incorporating gentle movement and breathwork, my role is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.

My work is grounded in evidence-based psychotherapy while recognising that healing involves the whole person—mind, body, relationships, and environment.

No two people are the same, and therapy shouldn't be either. Together, we'll find an approach that feels authentic, collaborative, and right for you.

Education & Professional Background

My therapeutic foundation is in Relational Family Therapy, an approach that understands emotional wellbeing through our relationships—with ourselves, with others, and with the stories we carry throughout life.

I completed my graduate certification in Couples and Family Therapy at the University of Ljubljana, training under Professor Christian Gostečnik, an internationally recognised authority in Relational Family Therapy.

Alongside psychotherapy, I hold Master's degrees in:

  • Sociology
  • African Studies
  • Entrepreneurship

These diverse disciplines continue to shape the way I understand people, communities, culture, and change.

A Global Perspective

Before establishing my private practice, I worked internationally in education and community development.

My work with UNESCO and local partners included projects in Ethiopia and Ghana, supporting initiatives in education and social development.

These experiences deepened my appreciation for the many ways culture, relationships, and lived experience influence wellbeing.

Mind and Body

For more than four years I have taught yoga and completed over 500 hours of Hatha Yoga teacher training.

I am also a certified Breathwork Practitioner, having completed a year-long professional breathwork education.

These practices complement—rather than replace—psychotherapy, offering additional ways to reconnect with the body and regulate the nervous system where appropriate.

Experience

I have worked therapeutically in a variety of settings for the past nine years, supporting people through periods of transition, uncertainty, and personal growth.

My practice integrates:

  • Relational Psychotherapy
  • Walk & Talk Therapy
  • Somatic Awareness
  • Breathwork
  • Yoga-informed practices

Every therapeutic journey is tailored to the individual.

Home

Originally from Slovenia, I moved to Denmark shortly after high school and have spent nearly half my life in Copenhagen.

Living between cultures has given me a deep appreciation for identity, belonging, transition, and the many ways people create a sense of home—within themselves and in the world around them.

Closing

I know that beginning therapy can feel like a significant step.

Whether you're navigating a particular challenge or simply sensing that something in your life is ready to shift, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.

Whenever you're ready—

You are welcome here.
